Four-time Grammy winner Will Smith will debut a new original song at the 2024 BET Awards, taking place on Sunday, June 30 . The information was released by BET in a statement last Monday (24). The information is from Variety.
Smith’s career as a musician began before he became known as an actor in the series “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” in the 90s, where he also sang the famous theme song. The “Aladdin” actor has already released a new single, “Light Em Up”, in partnership with Sean Paul, for the film “Bad Boys: Ride Or Die”, in which Smith is one of the stars. He gained a reputation in music as part of a duo with DJ Jazzy Jeff, who also participated in “Um Maluco no Pedaço.”

Recently, Smith has been revisiting his hip-hop roots. In April, he surprised Coachella attendees by joining singer J Balvin on stage to perform his 1997 song “Men In Black,” which is also part of a film franchise starring Smith.
In December, he performed at “A Grammy Salute to 50 Years of Hip-Hop” with DJ Jazzy Jeff. “Me and Jeff had to pull chains and old jerseys out of the closet for this one,” Smith said in the description of his on- court YouTube post . He also stated: “Sharing the stage to celebrate 50 years of Hip-Hop with some of music’s biggest icons was simply AMAZING! Definitely a moment I will never forget ”, in a post on Instagram.
