Asian stock markets close higher and Europe rehearses recovery while waiting for the PCE.

Asian stock markets closed  higher this Friday, in a recovery from yesterday’s losses, as investors await US inflation data that could influence the trajectory of American basic interest rates.

Japan’s Nikkei  index rose 0.61% in Tokyo to 39,583.08 points, boosted by shares of machinery manufacturers, trading companies and banks, as the recent weakness in the yen improves the outlook for profits, while South Korea’s  Kospi  advanced 0.49% in Seoul to 2,797.82 points, the  Taiex  posted a gain of 0.55% in Taiwan to 23,032.25 points, and the  Hang Seng  was virtually safe in Hong Kong, with a marginal rise of 0.01% to 17,718.61 points.

In mainland China, markets also ended the session in the green, helped by the strong performance of telecommunications stocks. The  Shanghai Composite Index  rose 0.73% to 2,967.40 points, while the smaller  Shenzhen Composite Index  advanced 0.25% to 1,618.07 points. China Telecom and China Mobile rose 2.8% and 2.6%, respectively.

In the next few hours, the US will release its monthly survey on its PCE inflation, which tends to help the Federal Reserve (Fed, the American central bank ) to define whether and when it will be able to start cutting interest rates.

In Oceania, the Australian stock market rose slightly , thanks to the strength of banking sector shares. The S&P/ASX 200 advanced 0.10% in Sydney, to 7,767.50 points.

European stock markets rehearse recovery

European stock markets are   attempting to recover from yesterday’s losses on Friday morning, awaiting inflation data from the US, but Paris stock markets are trading lower since the start of the week , weighed down by the political risk of the French legislative elections at the end of the week.

At around 6:15 a.m. (Brasília time), the pan-European Stoxx 600 index was up 0.22%, at 513.74 points. Only the oil and gas sub-index rose 1%, amid the strength in oil prices, while the banks index rose 0.60%.

Investors in Europe and other parts of the world are awaiting, in the next few hours, the monthly survey on US PCE inflation – the  Federal Reserve’s (Fed) preferred price metric – which could have a crucial influence on the trajectory of US base interest rates in the second half of the year.

From today’s European agenda, the highlight is the United Kingdom’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the first quarter, which was revised upwards and showed growth of 0.7% compared to the previous three months, in the final reading.

At 6:31 am (Brasília time), the London Stock Exchange rose 0.54% and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange increased 0.63%, while those in Milan and Madrid showed increases of 0.49% and 0.41%, respectively, and that of Lisbon teetered close to safety .

Paris, on the other hand, fell 0.33% amid fears that the far right will win France’s parliamentary elections, as polls suggest. The first time of the French electoral dispute is scheduled for Sunday (30).

Americanas (AMER3): Miguel Gutierrez, former CEO, is arrested in Madrid.

The former CEO of Lojas Americanas  (AMER3), Miguel Gutierrez, was arrested this Friday morning (28) in Madrid, Spain.

Since Thursday (27),  Miguel Gutierrez  had an arrest warrant issued by the Brazilian Court, as he is suspected of participating in accounting fraud at Americanas.

Gutierrez  has Spanish citizenship and had been in the European country since last year . His name had been included in the red notice , which refers to Interpol’s list of international fugitives.

Recall the development of the operation

This Thursday (27), the Federal Police launched  Operation Disclosure , which aimed to clarify the participation of former directors of Americanas (AMER3) in the accounting frauds of R$25.3 billion identified in the company in 2022.

Preventive arrest warrants were issued against Miguel Gutierrez, former president of Americanas  , and Anna Chistina Ramos Saicali, former director. Both were abroad.

Furthermore , Federal Police agents carried out search and seizure warrants at 15 addresses in Rio de Janeiro.

The 10th Federal Criminal Court of Rio de Janeiro also ordered the seizure of assets and values totaling more than R$500 million.

The investigations count on the collaboration of the current board of directors of Americanas and are conducted together with the Federal Public Ministry and the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM).

The former directors are suspected of committing accounting fraud related to risk-taking operations, in which the company is able to advance payment to suppliers through loans from banks.

In other words , they would also have defrauded cooperative advertising fund (VPC) contracts, which consist of commercial incentives generally used in the sector. However , VPCs were accounted for that never existed.

The former CEO of Americanas  and the company’s former executive were also included in Interpol’s red spread .

This system is used to publicize arrest orders for people abroad. With this, countries that are part of Interpol can execute the warrant in the event of the targets’ displacement.

NASA announced it selected SpaceX to build a vehicle capable of pulling the International Space Station back into Earth’s atmosphere.

NASA chooses SpaceX to bring Space Station back to Earth .

NASA announced Thursday (27/06) that it has selected SpaceX to build a vehicle capable of pulling the International Space Station back into Earth ‘s atmosphere  so that it can be destroyed after it completes its functions in 2030.

The competition, run by billionaire Elon Musk’s company, has a total value that could reach up to 843 million dollars (789.3 million euros), according to an envoy from the US space agency .

NASA announced last year its intention to deepen the International Space Station (ISS) over an ocean, after its end of life. Some pieces will disintegrate during the maneuver, while others, more resistant, will fall into the sea.

But this operation requires the development of a vehicle powerful enough to maneuver the ISS, which weighs around 430,000 kilograms . The vehicle to be developed by SpaceX should allow “deorbiting the Space Station and avoiding any risks to inhabited areas”, NASA said.

NASA demands that the vehicle disintegrate upon re-entry into Earth

Just like the ISS, the vehicle that will pull it is also expected to disintegrate upon re-entering the Earth ‘s atmosphere . The vehicle, once completed, will belong to NASA, which will be responsible for operating it during the mission.

The United States, Japan, Canada and the Europeans have committed to continuing ISS operations until 2030, while Russia has done so, for now, until 2028. “Safely removing the International Space Station from trajectory is a responsibility of the five space agencies”, wrote NASA, this Wednesday. Despite the war in Ukraine, the ISS remains one of the rare areas of cooperation between Washington and Moscow.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange landed in Australia and was reunited with his family.

Julian Assange is reunited with his family after landing in Australia.

Julian Assange landed in Australia and was reunited with his family after agreeing to a legal contract that ended his 14-year legal saga. The WikiLeaks founder landed in the Australian capital, Canberra, shortly after 7:30 pm this Wednesday (26/06), before climbing the runway to hug his wife, Stella Assange.

Fans who confronted the callous man could be heard applauding as he arrived, with some chants of “we love you, Julian” and “welcome home”.

Assange left a US court in the isolated Pacific territory of Saipan on Wednesday a free man , after pleading guilty to a single criminal charge of conspiracy to obtain and publish confidential security documents . He was sentenced to time already served, due to time already served in Belmarsh Prison, London.

His release ends a saga that lasted more than a decade , in which Assange spent five years in maximum security prison and seven years in the Ecuadorian embassy in London, fighting extradition to the US, where he faced 18 criminal charges. If found guilty, he would face a sentence of up to 175 years in prison.

Immediately after the three-hour hearing, the US government withdrew its extradition request from the UK , dropped all remaining charges pending in the US, and banned Assange from returning to the US without permission. Assange went straight to the airport and arrived in Canberra on Wednesday evening local time .

Julian Assange went to Australia on a personal jet

Assange traveled to Australia aboard a chartered Bombardier personal jet, with his legal team, US emissary Kevin Rudd and UK senior commissioner Stephen Smith.

WikiLeaks said it will hold a press conference on Wednesday evening.

At a press conference shortly after Assange’s landing, the prime minister, Anthony Albanese, said he was “pleased to be the first person” to speak to Assange “immediately with the wheels touching the ground .”

“We know his safe return to Australia means a lot to his family. His wife Stella, his children, who he is looking forward to spending time with as any father would, and his parents Christine and John,” he said.

“There was no purpose to be served by this continued incarceration. And I can say that when I spoke to Mr. Assange tonight, he described it as a surreal and happy moment.”

Before his arrival, Assange’s father, John Shipton, told social media in Parliament that he expected Assange to do “normal things” after returning . It will be the first time that Assange will meet the two children he has with his wife outside of prison.

Posting on

In parliament on Wednesday, Albanese said Australians would have different views on the plea bargain , but that the majority would support his release.

“Mr Assange’s case has dragged on for far too long. I have said repeatedly that there is nothing to be gained by prolonging his imprisonment and I am pleased that he is on his way home to Australia to be reunited with his family here ,” Albanese said.

“Over the two years since we took office , my government has been committed and advocating, including at the leadership level, for a solution to this situation. We have used all appropriate channels.”

Albanese raised the issue with US President Joe Biden, while politicians from across Australia’s political spectrum last year went to Washington to pressure US decision-makers to free Assange.

“This is what protecting Australians around the world looks like ,” Albanese said.

“It means doing the work, getting results and outcomes, having the standard to stay the course. And I am very pleased that on this occasion this was a successful outcome that I believe the overwhelming majority of Australians wanted to see.”

WikiLeaks shared an image on X of Julian Assange hugging his lawyer Jennifer Robinson after he was released, with Rudd smiling in the background. Assange made no comments to the press before or after leaving the court, but Robinson thanked the Australian government and the global movement for the court’s outcome.

“It is a great comfort to his family, to his friends, to his supporters, to us and to all who believe in freedom of speech around the world, that he can now return to his mansion in Australia and reunite yourself with your family,” she told reporters. outside the court.

“I hope that the fact that we were able to free Julian Assange today, against all odds and against one of the most powerful governments in the world, gives hope to all journalists and publishers who are imprisoned, all over the world.”

The “show” is Portugal’s excellent qualification at “16”, with… a hat-trick against Turkey.

0

Spray, clean, done… That pretty much sums up Portugal’s impressive display against Turkey, with the typical visitors winning 3-0. Two goals in the first segment , an assist from Cristiano in the second and his country advances to the “16” of EURO 2024.

The   Turks  may have been convincing with their performance against   Georgia  , but in this case they faced   Portugal  . And that in itself says a lot, with  Cristiano Ronaldo ‘s team   at… another level.

They won with typical ease, 3-0, they had an excellent day from   Bernardo Silva,   while their “leader” did not score, but broke another record: he became the first in assists in the history of the   European Championships   with eight, and He led his country into the next season . But why did we arrive at this point? The score opened in the 21st minute, with   Bernardo Silva   receiving the ball superbly from the extension and sending it into the net with a beautiful shot !

Three minutes later,   Fernandes   shot wide, while in the 28th minute the   Portuguese ‘s second goal came  .   Cancelo   and   Ronaldo   didn’t communicate much and lost the sphere , but it ended up in   Akaidin  , who, without having seen where Altai is, turned towards him and accidentally sent it into the net for 2-0!

Last season ‘s remarkable first segment , a long- range shot by Kioktsu in the 41st minute, which didn’t bother the Portuguese goalkeeper  at all .

After a vertical pass behind the Turkish   defense , Cristiano Ronaldo   came out on top of the Turkish goalkeeper, with CR7 showing altruism and assisting   Bruno Fernandes who made it 3-0 with a penalty kick against the defenseless home team. Al Nasr’s   superstar     thus became the leading player in assists in Euro history).

Start of the match

2′ Ronaldo ‘s   first kick  , easily blocked by Altai.

4′  Fernandes  shot from outside the extension , the ball in the bodies.

6′  Good moment for Turkey, the ball came from the right, but  Akturkoglou  … moved away in an attempt to send the ball into the net!

15′  Leão’s header was completely harmless, Altai took it easily.

21′ GOOOOOOL, 1-0 PORTUGAL WITH SILVA!  The Iberians opened the scoring, with the turn coming from the left and the Manchester City player scoring with a powerful shot from inside the extension !

24′  Nice kick from  Fernandes  in motion, the ball comes out.

25′ Yellow card for Bardaktsi.

29′ GOOOOL, 2-0 PORTUGAL WITH AKAIDIN’S OWN GOAL! Unthinkable mistake by the former Panathinaikos player, who, when trying to return the ball to Altai, sent it into his team’s net…

Another own goal in this year’s Euros…

31′  Good moment for Turkey,  Akturkoglou  shot from the left and Costa saved it with his foot.

32′  Successive counterattacks to shots attempted by Turkey’s players.  35′  Fernandes kicked from the right, the ball went up .

37′  Ronaldo now tried to threaten, his shot from outside the extension went wide.

41′  Costa easily blocked the ball after Kioktsu ‘s  long range kick  .

 42′ Yellow card for Akaidin.

45′ Yellow card for Palínias.

One minute delays in the first segment .

End of the first segment , Turkey-Portugal 0-2 with a goal from Silva in the 21st minute and an own goal from Akaidin in the 28th minute!

Start of the second half

Neto against Leão and R. Neves against Palínia.

Yazichi instead of Kyokchu.

53′  Long range kick from  Yazitsi  , no problem for Costa, who blocked it.

56′ GOOOOOOL, 3-0 PORTUGAL WITH FERNANDES!  Ronaldo and Bruno faced off, with the Portuguese legend passing the ball to his compatriot and him scoring perhaps the easiest goal of his career !

Cristiano had the opportunity to score in the sixth continued Euro , but preferred to promise the goal with a pass.

59′ Yildiz instead of Akturkoglu and Yuksek instead of Ayhan.

63′ Yildiz’s long range kick misses.

67′ Yilmaz falls into extension , Zweier isn’t much moved.

69′ Semedo is not Cancelo’s place.

70′ Guler is not Akgiun’s place.

The last leg of the game is procedural in nature, with the Portuguese guaranteeing qualification for the knockout rounds as the first.

75′  It looks like Akaidin has injury problems.

Demiral took his place.

Five minutes long .

90 + 5′ Long range shot by R. Neves, ball goes wide.

End of the game, Turkey-Portugal 0-3!

First and best, the Portuguese secured passage to the knockout stages, with Turkey remaining in second place.

Sony Music acquired Banda Queen’s catalog for 1 billion euros; View the transaction.

With the acquisition , Queen becomes the margin with the most expensive catalog ever sold in the world of music.

Queen : Margin has the most expensive catalog ever sold (Steve Jennings/WireImage/Getty Images).

One of the most historic and listened to bands around the world,  Queen  has a vast — and very expensive — catalog of songs. For years, before and after the death of  Freddie Mercury , obtaining the rights to Margin was a matter of dispute between record companies. As the pen rush intensified, the value of the catalog grew. But now the war seems to have come to an end : in agreement with  Variety,  Sony  Music  concluded a new contract for the group’s catalogue,  which cost zero plus zero less than  €1 billion

With live music and music from Queen, NASA prepares historic operation in the New Year

Queen ‘s songs   come from a complicated contract with  Disney . The royalties from the rights to the group’s recorded music in North America were acquired by the company in a US$10 million transaction during December 1990. They will now go to Sony. Likewise, the group’s distribution contract , which is currently with Universal, will pass to Sony when it passes away in the coming years.

Sony wasn’t the only one interested in the margin rights . Another competitor was very close in the race, but stopped its offer at US$900 million.

Sony x Universal

In 2023,  Universal  was more than willing to pay for the  €1 billion  margin catalogue , but ended up leaving Sony with the victory in the war . With the acquisition , Queen ‘s catalog   became the most expensive of all time, ahead of  Bruce Springsteen’s , which cost a total of around US$500 million, according to information from  Times Magazine . It is worth mentioning that Springsteen’s catalog was also acquired by Sony, sold by the artist himself in December 2021.

The negotiated value says a lot about the popularity and grandeur of the marginTo put it in theory , the album  “Greatest Hits”  had zero plus zero less than 7 million sales in the United Kingdom alone . Only the song “Bohemian Rhapsody”, 40 years after its release, won a diamond certificate from the  Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) after surpassing 10 million in sales (and streaming subscriptions) in the United States.

Historical and billionaires

With alternating rights, consumers who listen to the margin on streaming platforms — such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, among others — will not feel any differences. But the contract is favorable to Sony, which has been looking for victory for years.

A success in the 1970s , Queen ‘s catalog   is among the most valuable in music worldwide . The value became even more prominent after the success of “Bohemian Rhapsody” (2018), which went on to win the Oscar in the categories of Best Editing, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing and Best Actor, with Rami Malek.

Owners of classics, the music from the margins continues to be heard on the main streaming platforms. “ Another One Bites the Dust ”, “Radio GaGa”, “Somebody to Love” “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions” appear on the most listened to lists every year.

US election: Biden’s campaign ad stands out due to Trump’s criminal status.

0

The bet is aimed at decisive states and tries to frame the election as a dispute between ‘ the sentenced person and the president who fights for his family’ to occupy undecided voters.

President Joe Biden ‘s campaign   began its most aggressive move on Monday to brand former President  Donald Trump as a criminal, with the introduction of a new television proclamation focusing on the Republican presidential candidate’s criminal sentence .

The campaign explained that the proclamation would be part of an investment of US$50 million (almost R$271 million) in decisive states in June. A growing number of Democrats have been urging the president to be more hostile to enhancing criminal punishment against Trump.

“We see Donald Trump for who he is,” states the proclamation ’s narrator . “He has been sentenced for 34 felonies, found responsible for sexual assault, and committed financial fraud.”

The campaign concludes by presenting the election as the choice that the Biden campaign intends to engrave in the memory of voters who do not know whether to vote for the Democrat, whose approval ratings last week reached the lowest point of his Presidency: “This election is between a sentenced criminal who only defends himself and a president who fights for his family”, states the narrator of the proclamation .

TO USE or NOT to USE the New York Jury’s decision in the campaign?

Since the conclusion of Trump ‘s trial  last  month , the Democratic president’s allies have been involved in a broad discussion about how to use the New York jury’s decision in the campaign.

While Trump regularly laments his whistleblowing in speeches during rallies and on his social media platform, Biden has avoided the subject for the most part , with the exception of an impromptu remark at a fundraiser in Connecticut this month. The president has not attacked Trump for his criminal sentence in front of television cameras, although officials such as Governor JB Pritzker of Illinois have been much less reluctant to do so.

In just ten days, Biden and Trump will meet for the first debate of the campaign, an event that the president’s team hopes will help solidify with voters the theory that the 2024 elections are a choice between Biden and his predecessor .

“Trump comes to the first debate as a convicted criminal who continues to prove that he will do anything and harm anyone if it earns Donald Trump more power and revenge,” said Michael Tyler, a spokesman for the Biden campaign. “His entire campaign is a ploy of revenge and retaliation.”

A Trump campaign spokesperson said the Biden campaign’s new ads demonstrated that the Democrat led a coordinated attack against the Republican — a theory for which there is no evidence. In addition to the New York case , Trump has been indicted in two separate federal cases and one case in Georgia.

“Joe Biden and his campaign are stupid enough to highlight why they rigged the judicial system to harass the leading presidential candidate and his opponent in order to interfere in the election,” said Steven Cheung, a spokesman for the Trump campaign. “Biden’s campaign spent tens of millions of dollars on advertising, but his numbers didn’t change.”

Trump has maintained a narrow lead over Biden in most public polls for months, although interviews with nearly 2,000 voters who took part in polls in recent months by  The New York Times  and Siena College found a slight shift from Trump to Biden after the penalty. of the former president.

An unprecedented photo of William with his children was taken by Kate and published to celebrate Father’s Day.

0

The commemorative date takes place today in the United Kingdom and in several countries around the world.

An   unprecedented  photo of Prince William  with his three children, George, Charlotte and Louis, was shared this Sunday, on social media, in celebration of  Father’s Day . The image of the children hugging their father was taken by Princess  Kate Middleton , on a beach in Norfolk, England, last month .

The mother’s achievement was revealed on Kensington Palace ‘s Instagram account  , with a caption written by the three young royals. “We love you, daddy. Happy Father’s Day. G, C & L.”, says the publication. It is the first time that a message from children has been published on the Palace’s social networks.

William also paid tribute to his father, King Charles, with a memoir of his childhood , taken 40 years ago. The photo shows the prince as a young man , playing football with his father on June 12, 1984. “Happy Father’s Day, dad,” said the post, personally signed by the heir to the throne.

King Charles also posted a Father’s Day message in honor of Prince Philip. A video montage, made more than 70 years ago, shows memories of the king with his father. The images were posted on the Royal Family’s official Twitter account.

In the caption, the king left a message for people who can no longer celebrate the date with their relatives. “Wishing all the dads, and those who may be missing their dads today, a relaxing Father’s Day.”

Kate’s Return

Princess Kate Middleton made her first public appearance of the year this Saturday, during the Trooping the Color military parade in celebration of the solemn birthday of the Sovereign, King Charles III. First, she arrived at Buckingham Palace by car with her children and her husband, Prince William. Then, as expected, Kate was seen in a carriage as part of the royal procession. Finally , she appeared on the palace balcony alongside the Royal Family. At 42, the future Queen of the United Kingdom faced months of speculation surrounding her sudden disappearance, and in early March she revealed that she has been undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment for cancer .

Charles and Queen Camilla left the palace in a Scottish carriage and embarked towards Horse Guards Parade. Dressed in full military attire, the royal received a royal salute from the military while the loudspeakers played God Save the King, the British national anthem. He then exited the vehicle and took his position at the salute base to witness the remainder of the parade. Its eldest son and heir, Prince William, 41, paraded on horseback, also in military uniform. The celebration ended with the king alongside his family on the palace balcony to witness a Royal Air Force flyover.

Kate had announced this Friday that she planned to attend the event. The broadcast of her presence in honor of the British royal was made in a post on social media. In it, the Princess of Wales said that she has made “good progress”, although she also highlighted that, “ as anyone who has undergone chemotherapy knows, there are good days and bad days”. “On bad days, you feel weak, tired and have to give in to your body and breathe . But on good days, when you feel more powerful , you want to make the most of your well-being,” she said, adding that she still faces “a few more months” of treatment.
